The following is a list of local businesses and nonprofits for our SenseAbility families to explore after we close.?? This is not a complete list and we will add places as we find them.?? We are also not endorsing any of the places below – these are listed as resources for you to determine what works best for your family.

THERAPY CENTERS/PLAYSPACES

The Happy Place, Whitinsville: The Happy Place strives to establish acceptance, encouragement and support in order to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities and families with children with special needs.

The Whole Child, Upton: We are dedicated to empowering the youth of our community with the broad skills needed to live a happy life in today’s world. These skills include: communication, social/emotional, self-advocacy, sensory-motor, student & organization skills, human relations and health knowledge.

Beacon Services Center Based Therapies, Hopedale: Coming soon to Hopedale – Beacon ABA Services is developing intensive behavior therapy to be offered in regional treatment centers. Center-based ABA services offer the same high-quality one to one ABA treatment in a more structured setting, enabling Beacon to offer unique treatment benefits, such as increased exposure to supported peer interactions and ongoing clinical oversight of cases.

SPARK Sensory Clinic, Hopedale: Private practice offers consultations, evaluations, and interventions for children 2-7 years old to address challenges in sensory processing, engagement and regulation. Works with children and their families to develop goals and treatment plans that support functional real life outcomes. Sessions are delivered in a sensory gym.

Brain Fit Academy, Hopedale: Working with children of all ages, including infants and toddlers, and families who are struggling with academic, social, emotional, organizational as well as fine and gross motor demands. In our mission to support families as a whole, Brain Fit Academy also offers coaching to adults, from frazzled Moms to Senior Citizens looking to maintain their independence.

Boston Ability Center, Natick: The Boston Ability Center (BAC) is a state of the art pediatric wellness center that is dedicated to helping kids reach their highest level of function in every area of development. Located in the Boston area, the center offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social-motor groups. We strive to provide care that is both fun and functional to help children reach their fullest potential.

Playtown Express, Southborough: An indoor playspace for children up to age 12.?? While not a designated sensory friendly building, it does provide safe, indoor play equipment at a reasonable price.

Academy Metrowest, Natick: Social skills groups and counseling programs for children and adults.

Energy Fitness Adaptive Program, Natick: A variety of fitness options for children with special needs including: gymnastics classes, open gyms and community specific events such as parent???s night out or fundraising opportunities Our adaptive program will provide higher and lower functioning students with the opportunity to learn gymnastics skills and to engage in a proprioceptive-rich environment where they can move their bodies safely and freely in a warm and welcoming environment. We will be offering three types of developmental opportunity for children ages 3-14.

Autism Alliance Winter Sunday Open Gym, Natick: A trip to the Sunday Open Gym is more than just a great way to spend some quality time with your loved one. It is also a way to promote community skills development in a therapeutic environment. At the Open Gym, individuals with autism spectrum order find a safe place to explore and express their sensory-self. Siblings are welcome!?? Check for dates and times.

InSync Communication Center, Sterling: inSync??is a communication center and social/sensory gym dedicated to providing a unique, SAFE, and exciting??learning environment for ages 2-22.??We offer an??environment that fosters a sense of belonging; where long lasting friendships can be made with endless opportunities to move, learn, and live!

Abilities Rec, Inc., Kingston: Abilities Rec is an inclusive recreational center specifically created to offer a variety of unique activities and programs designed for all ages, all abilities; including those with Autism and other disabilities.
