We are excited to partner with the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts once again in offering their sensory clinics! Facilitated by Amy Smith, COTA, these clinics are for parents and kids to play and work together on our equipment while guided by a professional. Participants must be autism division eligible and families must sign up through the Resource Center.
Visit their website or call them at (508) 835-4278 to sign up. Space is limited so call soon!
Is there a resource for kids with sensory processing dysfunction? We’re trying to find resources for our son, who is 3.
Hi! The best place to start is with an occupational therapist, who can do an evaluation and help you know what kinds of therapies your son might need. Sometimes school districts offer OT as part of their preschool programs too, if your son is already in preschool. There are several great private occupational therapy clinics around here.
You can also check out our list of resources at http://www.senseabilitygym.com/references.html
And of course, come on in for any of our open gym times listed on our website at http://www.senseabilitygym.com. Those times are for you and your son to come in and use our therapy equipment together and see what helps him and what he likes. We have many times for his age group. And when you’re in, we can talk about some of the resources around here.
Hope to meet you soon.
